Spanish Fundación Arte y Mecenazgo commissioned Arts Economics to carry out a follow up survey to The Spanish Art Market in 2012 examining the market’s progress over the three years from 2011 to 2014. The Spanish Art Market in 2014 examines the size, structure and key trends in the Spanish art and antiques market. The report showed that while the market improved over the period, and sales advanced nearly 70% from 2003 to 2013, performance has lagged global growth in art sales (with over 155% growth in the same decade). The report also outlines the important economic impact of the market in Spain and presents the key issues and challenges facing the market over the next five years.
The report is available to download in English and Spanish here.
